ELTON JOHN CONCERT POSTER

Client: Elton Johns Management 

Goal: To attract people to the Elon John concert at Dodgers Stadium and increase ticket sales and traffic to the website.  

Approach: I used Photoshop to create a digital collage representing Elton John’s music. John’s career peaked in the 1970s, which heavily influenced my work. I began the process by going to a local thrift store and collecting vinyl records, film, cassette tapes, sheet music, and CDs to represent the technology of the 70s. I cut the materials up and then scanned them into Photoshop, collaging them into flowers. I chose flowers because I associate floral patterns with the 70s, and their bright colors and beauty remind me of Elton John. I used sepia tones on all of the elements of my poster to create a faux vintage feel.  

Result: A mixed-media digital collage that represents Elton John and his music through the use of vintage elements and modern typeface.  The digital collage is multi-faceted and can be used as a concert poster or lanyard.
